The Nigerian striker suffered the injury early in the Round of 16 second-leg encounter following a collision with Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté during an aerial challenge. Konaté landed awkwardly on Osimhen’s arm, leaving the forward in visible pain.
Despite the knock, Osimhen showed resilience by continuing the first half with his arm heavily bandaged. However, he was withdrawn at the start of the second half after medical staff raised concerns over a possible fracture.
Post-match examinations confirmed a fracture in his right forearm.
According to a club statement, the injury has been stabilised with a cast, while a final decision regarding surgery will be made after further medical evaluations.
Galatasaray went on to lose the match 4–0, crashing out of the competition in disappointing fashion.
The injury comes as a major blow for both club and country, considering Osimhen’s impressive Champions League campaign, where he registered seven goals and three assists in 10 appearances.
Further updates on his condition—and whether surgery will proceed—are expected in the coming days.
