Manchester United of England legend, Nicky Butt is raining accolades on Galatasaray of Turkey striker, Victor James Osimhen, as he says the Nigerian hitman is ‘powerful, quick, strong and can score different types of goals.’
Sports247 reports that Butt, who played alongside icons like Roy Keane and Mark Hughes in the early days of Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, believes Osimhen can take after Odion Ighalo as the next Nigerian to feature for Man United.
Incidentally, it was from Ighalo that Osimhen took over Nigeria’s number nine jersey and stepped plum into the Super Eagles’ top striker’s role with ease, which Butt believes the 2023 African Footballer of The Year can also do with United.
With the summer transfer window fast approaching, The Red Devils will be in search of new force upfront, and Butt believes Osimhen should be a target for Michael Carrick, especially as they are heading back to the UEFA Champions League.
Butt declared emphatically, “I think he’d be the one. You’d like to think that players from Turkish sides are gettable. The recruitment team will not only look at the best players, but you’re looking at the ones that are gettable.
“You’re wasting time on certain players that you’re not going to get if they cost £120m. I think he’s powerful, quick, he can run in behind, he’s strong, has got a good touch, can score different types of goals (and) he’s good in the air.”
