Galatasaray of Turkey striker, Victor Osimhen was on top of his emotions after netting his second goal of the new Super Lig season, following which he thanked the club’s ‘electrifying atmosphere’ and ‘unbelievable fans’ for making it possible for him to hit target.
Sports247 reports that Osimhen nodded the ball home in the 65th minute of play to help his side snatch a 3-1 win against visiting Caykur Rizespor in their fourth match of the fresh campaign and maintain another surge atop the table for the team coached by Okan Buruk.
Although Osimhen was later replaced in the 89th minute at Rams Park, he had done enough to boost another victory for his side, while also adding one more sizzler to his goals haul for the season, which began in the previous week’s 4-0 demolition of Kayserispor.
The 26-year-old hitman, who struck 37 goals last season, while on loan from his immediate past club, SSC Napoli of Italy, admitted that he was excited getting on the scorecard once again and thanked the fans for creating a wild yet vibrant environment that spurs each player on to give their best in the red-and-yellow jersey.
He added, “It’s always an amazing feeling to get a goal and a win also. I always love to get a win, even if I don’t score.
“I am inspired, because the atmosphere is really electrifying, and the fans have been unbelievable since I got here last year.”
The 2023 African Footballer of The Year, who also previously played for Ultimate Strikers of Lagos, VfL Wolfsburg of Germany, Racing Charleroi of Belgium and Lille Metropole of France, renewed his pledge to continue giving his best for Galatasaray, as he aspires to see them win each match they play this season.
Osimhen further pointed out, “It’s really an unbelievable atmosphere here, and it’s a pleasure to come on the pitch in front of our fans. They encourage us to play and get the maximum points we need, while we entertain them as well.
“I’m really happy to excite them with a goal, and I say congratulations to the whole team. I feel like we really deserve this, and we will continue to build on this momentum,” Osimhen promised.
