Oshoala set to rule Europe

Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala was in action as a substitute in Barcelona Ladies 1-0 victory against Bayern Munich on Sunday to secure the team’s first Champions League final.

 

The Blaugrana also made history as the first Spanish team to qualify for the final of the Women’s Champions League.

Luis Cortes’ ladies, who won the first leg of the semi-final tie last Sunday advanced on a 2-0 aggregate score courtesy Olivier Mariona’s lone strike from the spot kick.

Oshoala made her second appearance in the competition as she replaced England forward Toni Duggan in the 71st minute of the match.

The 24-year-old who in on loan from Chinese club Dalian Quanjian has managed to score seven goals in six league games this season – having featured nine times in all competitions for Barcelona Ladies

Barcelona will play against
either Lyon in the final of the 2018/2019 Women’s UEFA Champions League in Budapest on May 18.

It has been a fantastic weekend for the Catalans with Lionel Messi also leading Barcelona to their 26th La Liga title after a 1-0 win over Levante on Saturday.
