Organiser Temporarily Suspend Ekiti Obas Cup Following Sudden Death Of Football Referee

All matches in the ongoing Ekiti Obas Cup have been temporarily halted for 24hours following the tragic death of Ekiti State Football Referee, Ajibola Success who succumbed to death following injuries sustained in a motorbike accident while on transit in Ado the state capital of Ekiti state on Friday.

Before his demise, Success was a popular referee who regularly handled regional matches, with most recent being the ongoing Ekiti Bet9ja Football League.

On resumption from the one day suspension, all players, Referees and other officials will adorn black in honour of the football referee whose death at a tender age was received
with great shock by the football lovers in the state.

The Ekiti Obas Cup is an Under-18 football competition organised by Qozeem Oladapo who coupled as the chairman of Ekiti state chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), featuring 16 teams representing 16 traditional rulers from various communities in Ekiti state.
