In a significant move ahead of today’s crucial fixture against Cameroon, Super Falcons head coach Justin Madugu has reinstated seasoned forward Francisca Ordega into the national squad, Sports247 reports.
Madugu emphasized that Ordega’s recent performances and vast experience make her inclusion a strategic asset as Nigeria gears up for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

“Francisca’s recent performances and experience mean her place in the team is merited,” Madugu stated, highlighting the value she brings to the squad.
Ordega’s return follows a period of absence from the national team, during which she continued to showcase her prowess at the club level. Notably, she concluded a successful four-year stint with CSKA Moscow, where she amassed 29 goals and 20 assists in 84 appearances, contributing to multiple Russian Cup victories and a Super Cup win .
The 31-year-old forward, currently playing for Al-Ittihad, brings a wealth of international experience, having represented Nigeria in multiple FIFA Women’s World Cups and securing four African Women’s Championship titles .
Coach Madugu, who has been instrumental in rebuilding the Super Falcons with a blend of youth and experience, believes Ordega’s leadership will be pivotal.
“Her presence is invaluable as we aim to reclaim our dominance in African women’s football,” he remarked .
As the Super Falcons prepare to face Cameroon, Ordega’s return is seen as a timely boost, potentially providing the experience and stability needed to navigate the challenges ahead.
