Onyinye Favour Onyah delivered a statement performance in the women’s 400m preliminaries at the Southland Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, clocking an impressive 53.30 seconds — the second-fastest time across all heats.
The Lions Track & Field school record holder looked smooth and composed throughout her race, underlining her status as one of the leading contenders for the 400m title.

Her controlled execution sent a strong message to rivals as she targets the 400m crown and aims to establish herself as the dominant quarter-miler in the region.
Onyinye Favour also advanced to the women’s 200m final, qualifying with a time of 23.86s (q) to keep her double-title ambitions alive at the championships.
With finals ahead, the Nigerian sprinter will be aiming to convert her strong prelims showing into podium finishes, as she continues to make her mark on the Southland Conference indoor circuit.
