Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika began the 2025/26 campaign on a high note as he featured in Club Brugge’s 2–1 victory over Union Saint-Gilloise to secure the Belgian Super Cup title on Sunday night.
The win marked a record-extending 18th Belgian Super Cup triumph for Club Brugge — the most by any team in the country.

Raphael Onyedika, who played the full 90 minutes, was instrumental in midfield as Club Brugge came from behind to claim the win at the Jan Breydel Stadium.
Union Saint-Gilloise took the lead in the 15th minute through Franjo Ivanović, but Club Brugge responded in determined fashion. Greek international Christos Tzolis equalized from the penalty spot, before captain Hans Vanaken sealed the comeback with a stunning strike.
The result served as revenge for Brugge, who lost by the same 2–1 scoreline to Union SG in last year’s edition of the Super Cup.
Meanwhile, Onyedika continues to attract transfer interest, with reports linking the Nigerian to Turkish giants Fenerbahçe, who are said to be in talks with Club Brugge over a potential move this summer
