Onuachu, Osimhen Fire Blank In Istanbul Derby as Galatasaray, Trabzonspor Share the Spoils

Galatasaray and Trabzonspor played out a goalless draw in a tightly contested Turkish Süper Lig clash at the RAMS Park in Istanbul.

The highly anticipated encounter, which featured Nigerian stars Paul Onuachu and Victor Osimhen, failed to produce a breakthrough despite both sides creating several scoring chances.

Galatasaray dominated possession with 58.4% and registered 23 shots compared to Trabzonspor’s 9, but only five of those attempts were on target.

Trabzonspor, on the other hand, relied on counterattacks and defensive resilience, with goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır making five crucial saves to deny the hosts.

Both Onuachu and Osimhen endured a frustrating evening as they struggled to find space against compact defences.

Onuachu, leading the line for Trabzonspor, was largely isolated upfront, while Osimhen, who spearheaded Galatasaray’s attack, saw two of his efforts parried away.

The match ended on a sour note for Trabzonspor after Bouchouari was sent off in the 90th minute, reducing the visitors to ten men.

Galatasaray completed the game with 397 passes at 85.4% accuracy, while Trabzonspor managed 289 passes with 79.6% accuracy.

The draw keeps both teams within touching distance of the Süper Lig summit, though neither side will be fully satisfied with the outcome.
