Omeruo Welcomes Former Middlesbrough Pal At Leganes

Leganes of Spain defender, Kenneth Omeruo has received yet another massive boost to his career in La Liga, as the modest club have signed one of his former teammates from Middlesbrough.

 

 

Sports247.ng learnt that Omeruo, who spent two seasons with Yakubu Aiyegbeni’s former club in the English Championship, will be happy to welcome Denmark international, Martin Braithwaite, who has joined Leganes on loan from The Riverside.

 

Omeruo’s top form since arriving on loan from Chelsea in the summer has helped Leganes stay unbeaten in six games across all competitions, but the team sit 16th in La Liga, just four points above relegation zone.

 

He will now hope for the team to get better results wityh the arrival of Braithwaite on loan from Middlesbrough until the end of the season.

 

Braithwaite, who played for Denmark at the World Cup, has struggled to make an impact for the Championship club since joining from Toulouse.

After spending time on loan with Bordeaux last term, scoring four goals in 14 Ligue 1 appearances, the 27-year-old will spend the remaining part of the campaign alongside Omeruo at Leganes.

Boro boss, Tony Pulis said: “Braithwaite is talking to Leganes. The club who were interested in him in the summer. We think that will happen.

“I have not had a lot of time with him, I had two or three weeks before he went last season on loan, and four or five months this season.

“Good luck if he wants to go. He wanted to go in the summer. He has got his move now.”
