Omeruo: Spanish League Suits My Style, Ambitions

Leganes of Spain defender, Kenneth Omeruo is basking in the euphoria of his new-found relevance in Spain, and says it is simply because the style in La Liga suits his pattern of play.

Sports247.ng gathered that Omeruo is happy to finally find regular playing time in one of Europe’s top leagues, and reckons that Leganes will help him achieve his football ambitions.

After failing to get a single competitive first team match with Chelsea, which he joined in 2012 from Standard Liege of Belgium, Omeruo is glad with the turnaround he is enjoying in Spain.

He is now looking forward to a thrilling end to the season with Leganes and the possibility of extending his stay with the club into a permanent contract, as he seeks to finally cement his status as a professional.

The Super Eagles star is currently on loan from Chelsea, which makes it the fourth club they have lent him to, but he is determined to make it the last, by playing even better with Leganes and helping them end well.

Omeruo stated: “My first season in Spain has been very good. It is very different from Turkey.
“I have adapted so much to the style of football and I can say right now that it suit my football.
“My ambition with the club is simple. I think the target is not to relegate.
“I think we have the squad to actually play well and get good results. We will try to play to qualify for the Europa league.
“The team is very strong at home and if we can win few games at away, it will help to push the team up in La Liga.”
