Omashor Kester Takes Charge Of KG Sports Academy In Interim Capacity As 5 New Players Signed Up

KG Sports Academy Agbor has appointed Omashor Kester as Interim Coach following the indefinite Suspension metted to the Head Coach Lansana Dukaray by the Bet9ja-DFA Football League Management.

The appointment was revealed by Director of KG Sports Academy Agbor, Dr Ken Gadaffi on Tuesday afternoon ahead of the Week 5 Clash against Lisbon FC of Abraka.

“We appealed the decision of the indefinite Suspension of our Head Coach, but up till now, we haven’t heard from the Bet9ja-DFA League Management on their decision and we cannot send the boys out without any body on the side line hence Kester Omashor one of the Senior players of the team will take charge of the team henceforth pending the decision go the League management committee.” he Stated from his base in Cambodia.

It will be recalled that the Bet9ja-DFA League Management committee handed an indefinite suspension to Coach Lansana Dukaray on march 8th following the match between KG Sports Academy and Itamah FC which ended 2-1 and the Sierra Leonean was adjudge to have assaulted Centre Referee Nkphughe Chukwuemeke though the coach denied the allegation and has since apologized for his verbal attack on the official after the match.

“We respect the decision of the League Management to Discipline the coach for his action as we at KG Sports do not condone any form of indiscipline, however to Ban him from all DFA Football Activities and Suspend him from the league indefinitely is very stringent and we hope the Decision will be rescinded and reduced to touch line bans” Dr Gadaffi said

Meanwhile KG Sports has taken advantage of the Mid Season Transfer window to sign up 5 new players to strengthen the squad. Midfielder Victor Thompson and Defender Destiny Uwezukwe Returns from their Europe Trial missions to join the team while U16 Captain Ayo Sarafa has been moved up to the Bet9ja-DFA League Squad. Former Ika north East Goalkeeper Idowu Okonta and Forward Ifeanyi John will Emefiele has also joined the Pride of Agbor.

“We needed to beef up the team, now that we are fighting for the top 2 position, we hope this new players will add more strength to our squad” Team Manager of KG Sports Academy Michael Ekeh said moments after collecting their licences from the football house at Asaba.
