Olympic Qualifiers: Don’t Be Complacent, Ugbade Warns Team Against Tanzania

Nigeria, Golden Eaglets coach, Nduka Ugbade has tasked the U-23 Team not to be complacent when they face Tanzania this weekend in the return leg of Africa Olympic football qualifiers scheduled for Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Nigeria were forced to play 1-1 in the first leg in Tanzania and winners in the return leg would qualify for the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for Morocco next year.

Speaking with sports247 this afternoon on phone, the Golden Eaglets handler admitted that the Tanzania team are not a threat to Nigeria but warned the players not to underestimate their opponents.

“Obviously Tanzania are not our rival as far as football is concerned in Africa but the players should not be too complacent against their opponents. They should go out there and make the country proud. We had a good result in the first leg and they should make sure that they win in Ibadan.

“They should take their chances and possibly bury the match in the first half. It would be a disaster if we fail to qualify for U-23 Africa Cup of Nations at the end of the second leg,”, he said.

Former Eaglets player however urged the Dream Team players to be serious and work hard to achieve their victory.
He also assured football fans nothing to worry about boasting that the host team stands the chance to come out victorious at the end of the encounter.
