Olunla Of Waasimi: ANFASSC Rejoices With Ike Shorunmu

The Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club ANFASSC has congratulated former Super Eagles goalkeeper Ike Shorunmu on his installation as the Olunla of Waasimi, Ewekoro Local government of Ogun State.


The former National team safe hands was on May 1st, 2021 conferred with the traditional title by the Oniwaasimi of Waasimi, Oba Emanuel, Babatunde Osuntogun.

National President of ANFASSC, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi while felicitating the former Stationery Stores, Basel, and Besiktas goalkeeper said it was well deserved.

He said, “Congratulations to Ike Anobi, everyone would attest to the fact that his hands were safe while he was a goalkeeper, the Monarch of his town can also be sure that whatever he delegates, the former Goalkeeper is capable”.

An indigene of Waasimi, Ewekoro Local government in Ogun state, Ike was born in Lagos and was Nigeria’s number one goalkeeper at the Korea/Japan 2002 World Cup.

He kept for Concord FC, Shooting Stars, FC Zurich, Samsunspor, and Sportclub Young Fellows Juventus of Switzerland
