Sports247 reports that the Nigerian basketball men’s national team, D’Tigers, former captain revealed how he intends to carry everybody along in order to make a huge and positive impact.
Oyedeji, who is currently the president of Nigeria Olympians Association (NOA), added that the high level of exposure and vast experience he has gained over the years will also be useful for him in meeting up with the huge responsibility that lies ahead.
He retorted, “It’s a lot of responsibility, but I’m not the only one. I have to make sure that I do my own part and do what I’m supposed to do. I have to make a meaningful impact.
“I know I have a great team. So, it’s not going to be just about me alone, and I will not do it all by myself. It’s going to be a long journey, but I have the knowledge and the experience.”
Oyedeji, who made waves while playing basketball in USA and some European countries, also noted that he will work alongside many former sports stars in the global body, including the president, who hails from Peru, hence his belief that he will excel with collective efforts.
Oyedeji enthused, “I’m happy that I’m surrounded by a lot of great people who will support me. That will make the journey smooth and easier.
“It’s not a big deal for me because I’ve prepared myself, and I’ve passed through a lot on the way in getting here.
“Having been a leader all my life, I want to use this opportunity as a gift for Nigeria. I plan to do well and give somebody else from Nigeria a chance to step up one day and do the sane.”
