Josephine Oloye produced a strong performance to secure a second-place finish in the women’s 400m at the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational, clocking an impressive 54.03 seconds in a competitive field at Cobb Stadium.
Oloye showed composure and strength throughout the one-lap race, executing a well-balanced run that saw her maintain pace through the backstretch before finishing strongly in the closing stages. Her time of 54.03s not only earned her a podium spot but also signals a positive start to her outdoor campaign.
The race also featured her teammate, Uduak Pius Udosoh, who delivered a respectable performance to finish sixth with a time of 55.06 seconds.
Udosoh demonstrated determination across the lap, contributing to what was an encouraging overall outing for their team, Eastern Michigan University Track and Field.
Competing at a high level early in the season, both athletes benefited from the exposure and intensity of the meet, which continues to serve as a valuable platform for collegiate athletes aiming to sharpen their form and build consistency.
For Oloye, the podium finish reflects steady progress and highlights her potential to challenge for top honors in upcoming competitions. Meanwhile, Udosoh’s effort reinforces the depth within the squad, with both athletes expected to improve as the season unfolds.
With the outdoor season gaining momentum, performances like these provide a solid foundation. The focus now shifts to maintaining rhythm, refining race execution, and translating early promise into even stronger results in subsequent meets.
