Oleksandr Usyk is no match for Anthony Joshua, Tony Bellew warns ahead of decisive throne decider bout

Oleksandr Usyk made his heavyweight debut against Tony Bellew with the matching up to Tony’s final fight. Bellew was knocked out by Usyk, as Usyk announced his arrival to the entire heavyweight division. Unfortunately, Tony Bellew has to walk out on a losing note.

Despite the loss, Bellew has now made a decisive comment following the mandatory throne decider match set to take place between Usyk and Anthony Joshua after the COVID -19 pandemic as he revealed Usyk is no match for AJ in terms of size and professionalism.

Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua will face IBF’s mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev. Once they both are done with their lined up fights, they can fight it out. But Bellew doesn’t think Usyk is up to the task.

Speaking with Colin Murray’s 52 podcast Bellew said, “[Usyk’s] a brilliant fighter, People always ask me ‘how will he do as a heavyweight’ so let’s just get down to it. I think he will beat every single heavyweight out there besides two and they are the big boys.”

He went on the explain his statement and said, “I Don’t think he is big enough to beat AJ and I don’t think he is big enough to beat Tyson Fury. The only thing that can beat him is size. Don’t get me wrong, when he fights AJ I think he’ll be ahead, but then I think AJ will get to him and work him down and gradually he will get there. When it comes to Tyson Fury, he just won’t be allowed to get close enough. Fury is that big.”

Tyson Fury has explicitly said he doesn’t want to face Usyk. He said, “No. Usyk ain’t on the list, he’s a no-name, no-one’s interested and it doesn’t make any money. So what would I wanna fight him for? He’s a small cruiserweight, foreigner, don’t speak good English, and nobody’s really interested anyway, he’s not setting anything alight. I want the big fights people are interested in and that ain’t one of them.”
