Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) of Reigns Soccer Agency, Olawale Onipede has lamented about the poor outings of Nigerian teams on the continent, stating that it will be a miracle if any of the Nigerian teams perform well in continental stages.

Olawale Onipede stated this during a chat with Sports 247, where he admitted the backwardness of our teams playing on the continent, as he stated that it is high time we begin to invest huge money in bringing in top players and coaches to our League, as we aim to transit and diversify our mentality in Football.

“Vision without provision will turn to television”. I have said this before the kick-off of the continental games (The CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup) that it will be a big miracle if any team in Nigeria performs well in continental stages. Some of them fail woefully, while some are struggling on their feet”.

“Mind you, let me remind you that ‘No empty sack can stand upright except it is loaded’. It is high time for Nigeria clubs to transit and diversify their mentality of football by investing and disbursing huge money on top players and Coaches to the League. We need people who will invest and pledge on the league both emotionally, materially and administratively to make Nigerian football great again”.

“To be honest with you, Nigeria League standards is very low and nothing to write home about. We need to shake up from our stumbler. Football is a huge business globally and currently, only South African leagues, few southern African countries, and North African countries are tapping into this business in Africa globally”, he admitted.

Olawale Onipede is a FIFA license agent and C.E.O of Reigns Soccer Agency Office in Lisbon. He is also the only scout for Gg10management Agency office in all African countries.
