Super Eagles striker Olanrewaju Kayode has shaken off his past disappointment to score a brace for Eroksporin their Turkish 1. Lig 4-1 victory over Hatayspor.
Kayode, who terminated his contract with Turkish club Sivasspor to attend to his marital issues, put his team in front on 8th minutes and cap it all in the 72nd minutes to secure the maximum points in the Game Week 5 fixture at Esenler Stadium.
The 31-year-old, who has played for Genclerbirligi in the Turkish second tier, was replaced in the 81st minute of the encounter, despite Funsho Ibrahim Bamigboye 51st minute goal for the away team.
Kayode represented Nigeria U-17 at the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup, earned his first call-up for the Nigeria U20 team for the qualifiers to the African Youth Championship in Libya the following year, was called up for the African Youth Championship in South Africa in 2011, and made his debut for the senior team in a 1-1 draw with Senegal in 2017. He is without a goal in four outings with the Super Eagles
The former Flying Eagles forward enjoyed a prolific stint with Sanliurfa, netting seven times in 15 league appearances.
Olanrewaju moved to Erokspor from another Turkish TFF club, Sanliurfa Spor Kulubu. The 31-year-old spent just six months with Sanliurfa Spor Kulubu following his arrival on a free transfer last summer.
