Nigeria international Ola Aina has committed his future to Nottingham Forest by signing a new three-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2028.
Aina, who initially joined Forest in July 2023 on a one-year deal following the expiration of his contract with Serie A side Torino, has been a consistent presence in the squad.

In his debut season, he played primarily at left-back as Forest battled relegation, eventually finishing 17th in the Premier League.
The club activated a one-year extension clause in May 2024, and Aina has since remained a vital component of Nuno Espirito Santo’s defence, operating more regularly on the right flank during the 2024–25 campaign.
The 28-year-old made 37 appearances across all competitions in the just-concluded season, helping Forest secure a seventh-place finish in the Premier League and a run to the FA Cup semi-finals. In total, he has featured 59 times for the club, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
Aina’s extension is part of a broader move by the club to secure key talents. During the 2024–25 season, Forest also tied striker Chris Wood to a new deal, extended centre-back Murillo’s contract until 2029, and handed head coach Nuno Espirito Santo a new contract in June that also runs until 2028.
A product of Chelsea’s academy, Aina made six first-team appearances for the Blues before a loan spell at Hull City in the 2017–18 season.
He then joined Torino on loan and was signed permanently in 2019, going on to make 113 appearances for the Italian side. He also had a brief return to English football on loan at Fulham during the 2020–21 season.
Although born in London and capped by England at youth levels, Aina committed to the Nigerian senior national team in 2017 and has earned 40 caps for the Super Eagles.
