Forest made a bright start and were rewarded inside five minutes when Morgan Gibbs-White fired home with his right foot to give the visitors an early lead.
The goal capped a positive opening spell in which Forest looked sharp and well-organised, with Ola Aina delivering a disciplined and energetic performance on the flank.
However, the complexion of the match changed dramatically just before half-time. Defender Neco Williams was shown a straight red card after handling the ball, leaving Forest with a numerical disadvantage heading into the second half.
Palace capitalised almost immediately, as Ismaila Sarr calmly converted the resulting penalty in stoppage time, sending goalkeeper Matz Sels the wrong way to restore parity at 1–1.
In the second half, Crystal Palace pushed for a winner, enjoying greater possession and territorial dominance, but Forest’s defensive resolve stood firm.
Ola Aina remained composed and influential, helping his side absorb sustained pressure. Nigerian youngster Christantus Uche was introduced from the bench as Forest reshuffled, adding fresh legs as they focused on preserving the draw.
Despite Palace’s late pressure, Forest showed resilience and tactical discipline to see out the contest and earn a valuable point on the road.
For Forest, the result underlined their fighting spirit, while Palace were left to rue missed opportunities against a depleted opponent.
