Okoye Shines as Udinese Claim Valuable Away Win in Turin

Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye delivered a composed and assured performance to help Udinese secure an important 2–1 away victory over Torino on Serie A Matchday 19, continuing his strong run between the posts.

Okoye played the full 90 minutes, registering three crucial saves and two clearances, as Udinese withstood late pressure to earn all three points in Turin.

His calm presence and command of his area proved vital, particularly in the closing stages when Torino pushed aggressively for an equaliser.

Udinese took the lead shortly after the restart in the 50th minute, with Nicolò Zaniolo finishing confidently with his right foot following an assist from Andrea Zanoli.

The visitors doubled their advantage in the 82nd minute when Jurgen Ekkelenkamp applied a simple finish from close range after being set up by Keinan Davis, putting Udinese firmly in control.

Torino responded late, pulling one back in the 87th minute through Cesare Casadei, who headed home from Valentino Lazaro’s delivery to set up a tense finale. However, Udinese held their nerve, with Okoye making key interventions to deny the hosts a dramatic equaliser.

The victory marks a significant result for Udinese away from home and underlines their growing confidence as the season progresses.

For Okoye, the performance further strengthens his position as a dependable presence in goal, combining shot-stopping with intelligent distribution and defensive organisation.

As Udinese continue their Serie A campaign, the Nigerian international’s consistency will remain crucial in their push for stability and positive results in the second half of the season.
