Okaka On Course To Join Troost-Ekong

Udinese of Italy defender, William Troost-Ekong is set to welcome Nigerian-born striker, Stefano Chuka Okaka at the Udine-based Serie A club in the coming days.

Sports247.ng reports that Troost-Ekong is bound to become the next Super Eagles player to have Okaka as a teammate, as the Italy international leaves Issac Success at Watford to join Udinese.

Troost-Ekong will take the gauntlet over from Success as early as this weekend, as reports out of Queensland indicate that Okaka is set to join the Serie A side on loan.

The deal, which is expected to run until end of the season, also contains a right to buy the 29-year-old striker, who has featured just twice in the Premier League this season and once in the Carabao Cup.

Okaka signed for The Hornets from RSC Anderlecht of Belgium in 2016 but has scored just five times in 39 appearances.

He last played in Italy for Sampdoria, while also previously having had spells also in the country of his birth at Parma, Bari, Brescia, Modena and Roma, before starring for Fulham in England.
