Ojinnaka Recounts Switch From NFL To Wrestling

Nigeria’s two-time champion in America’s famous Impact Wrestling, Quinn Ojinnaka (aka Moose) is relishing memories of the switch he made from the National Football League (NFL) to being a professional grappler, sports247.ng reports.

After seven seasons in the NFL, Ojinnaka decided to go from the gridiron to the world of professional wrestling in 2012, and recounts how successful he was at the beginning of his adventure.

“Moose” rose through the ranks pretty quickly, becoming one of the biggest stars outside of the rival body, Wolrd Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

He wrestled in Ring in Honor for about two years before making his pro-debut at Impact Wrestling in July 2016, and became the main draw in the company’s biggest event, Slammiversary in Toronto, Canada.

Ojinnaka said he learned a lot from being inside the squared circle with Kazuchika Okada, the man many wrestling fans feel is best in the world.

Okada defeated Moose ROH’s 14th Anniversary Show on February 26, 2016, but he found the experience to be invaluable in his progression.

Ojinnaka recalled: “The match I had with Okada was breathtaking for me. You have a guy in Okada who, when I decided to get into wrestling, was someone I looked up to.
