Niger Tornadoes and Kwara United recorded their first victory in the Ogunjobi Gold Cup Tourney after they defeated FC Ebedei, FC Yobo 2-0 and 2-1 respectively at the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin on MatchDay 2.
The Ikon Allah boys showed FC Ebedei no mercy putting the game to bed in the first half with Musa Wakili scoring in the 15th minute before Kabir Umar put the icing on the cake in the 41st.
Kwara Utd who beat NLO side, FC Yobo 2-1, which saw Taylor Adebayo netting a brace in the 33rd and 53rd minute while the Lagos team got its consolation goal via a penalty scored by Agbabiaka.
Results see Ikon Allah Boys and Harmony Boys both level on 4points each but the former go top of Group A with a superior two goals difference over the latter.
In the other matches, Remo Stars and Wasiu Alabelewe FC dropped 2points after they played a barren draw.
For defending champions, Sunshine Stars they had to come from behind to draw Cynosure 1-1 to keep the chase on the Abakaliki team who top Group B with 4points.
