Ogun2025: Kayode Balogun Confident as Team Secures Quarterfinal Spot

Team Ogun’s male basketball squad cruised into the quarterfinals of the Gateway Games 2024 with an impressive 62-45 win over Adamawa at the Alake Sports Centre on Monday. The home team thrilled supporters with strong defense, quick transitions, and sharp shooting throughout the contest.

Team captain Kayode Balogun led by example and praised the collective effort that delivered the result. “We feel very good and thank the fans for their support,” Balogun said. “We worked hard to get this result, and we thank God for the victory. It was a tough match, but winning this game qualified us for the quarterfinals.”

Balogun expressed confidence in the team’s preparation and hunger for success.
“This time, Ogun State will go all the way. We’ve prepared very well for this tournament, and I believe in my teammates,” he added. “Big thanks to the Ogun State Basketball Association for their support.”
