Excitement is brewing in Ogun State as the stage is set for the highly anticipated Ogun State Football Association preseason tournament.

With the aim of preparing teams for the upcoming season, this year’s edition has seen an impressive 22 teams registering to participate.
The organizers have meticulously planned for the preliminary stage of the matches, designating three key centers to host the exciting clashes.
The tournament will kick off at the Abeokuta Center, which will feature two separate centers within it. Eleven formidable teams will lock horns in Abeokuta, ensuring spirited competition.
In Ijebu Ode, a total of seven teams will vie for supremacy, while Shagamu will witness the participation of four determined teams. The stakes are high, with two teams from each group slated to advance to the quarterfinals.
The overwhelming participation of teams reflects the enthusiasm and commitment to raising the standard of football in Ogun State. With the season on the horizon, the preseason tournament serves as a crucial platform for teams to fine-tune their skills and strategies.

Notable rules include the requirement for teams to arrive at least an hour before kickoff time, and any team failing to show up for their match within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time will be walked over.
Matches will be played with halves lasting 45 minutes each or 40 minutes, depending on the officials’ decision. Teams will be allowed a maximum of five substitutions thrice per match.
The provision of match balls is essential, with sanctions for teams that fail to comply. A standby vehicle is required for each match, underlining the importance of preparedness and organization.
Discipline is of utmost importance, with players and officials urged to maintain a high level of conduct. The organizers will not tolerate any form of indiscipline that could disrupt the competition.
