Ogbuchi Excited Over Guinea Victory Says Ghana Will Fall

Flamingo player, Chidima Ogbuchi has expressed joy that Nigeria booked last phase of FIFA U-17 Women World Cup qualifying match.

Flamingo whitewashed Guinea 5-1 yesterday in the return leg of the qualifying match at Agege Stadium. Ogbuchi who is currently playing for FC Robo Queens of Lagos said beating Guinea home and away is the team target and boasted that they are ready for Ghana in the last phase of qualifying match.

“It was a good match for us and Guinea gave us a good fight. I am happy that we are in final stage of the qualification”, she said.
Ogbuchi said their next match against Ghana will be more tougher and promised Nigerians good outing against their West Africa team.

“We are aware that Ghana is our next match and they are doing well presently. It is going to be tougher but believe me, we will beat them home and away the way we beat Guinea,”she said.

Flamingo coach, Olowokere Bankole thanked Nigerians for their support given to the team since preparation to achieve the needed result. He said his girls are good to beat Ghana and qualify for the FIFA U-17 female World Cup scheduled in India.


Commenting on the match, FC Robo boss, Emmanuel Osahon congratulated the girls for the victory and warned them to up their game in their next match against Ghana.

“It was a good match for Flamingo.They were better technically than their opponents but their next match against Ghana will be more tougher because Ghana is better in female football but Nigeria is the best.So coach needs to work more and qualify Nigeria for World Cup,”he said.


In the fixture of last phase qualifying match, Uganda will meet Cameroon, South Africa will face Morocco, while Ghana battle Nigeria. The three winners will represent Africa in the forthcoming FIFA U-17 female World Cup in India.
