Watford have completed the signing of Samuel Kalu from Ligue 1 side Girondins de Bordeaux in a deal worth around £3.5m including add-ons.
Kalu, 24, has penned a three-year contract at Vicarage Road until 2025 and becomes Watford’s fourth signing of the January transfer window as the club battle against the drop. After the signing, Kalu said: “I am happy to be here. I can’t wait to get started.”
The winger becomes the latest Nigerian addition at the club, joining his international teammates Willian Troost, Emmanuel Dennis, Oghenekaro Etebo, and Maduka Okoye who will join in the summer.
Samuel Kalu made a total of 86 appearances for Bordeaux, scoring 10 goals and making 8 assists. He also has 17 caps for Nigeria, scoring 2 goals. He will wear the number 28 at Watford.
