ODSG ASSURES SUPPORTERS OF EARLY PREPARATION ….As Aiyedatiwa says Sunshine FC future is bright

Ondo State Government has assured the teaming supporters and fans of Sunshine Stars FC of early preparation ahead of the coming season of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The Sunshine Stars FC escaped relegation on the last day of the season by defeating Rivers United 1-0 in Akure.

They ended 16th on the log with 45 points.

Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa stated this while playing host to People United By Sports (PUBS), who were on a thank you visit for the support which helped the team escape relegation last season.

Aiyedatiwa while addressing the members of PUBS, flanked by Sunshine Stars Supporters Club, players and officials of Sunshine Queens FC, noted that the government would not left it late in preparing for the next season.

He promised that government would do everything possible for the club not to find itself in such a precarious situation again.

The Deputy Governor assured them that Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN keenly following the club’s activities and was always looking for every possibilities to help the club.

Aiyedatiwa who said it was collective effort, thanked the coaching crew for a job well done to achieve and worked out the results that helped in escaping the relegation.

Hoping that the experienced of the recently concluded football season would be use as launch pad for the coming season, the Deputy Governor further said.

“Mr Governor is also excited, he was one of the person that first congratulated me… you will think he is not following, he followed us all through” .

“That is how he knows the club played 18 matches without a win and sacked the former Board” .

“We are putting our house in order, we are going to the drawing table and look at the problem we have from beginning and we will not experience what we experienced last season” .

“We will engage the right technical crew, the right players; we struggled last season because most of our players are average players, but we will not wait and we start early so that we can run smoothly without struggling,” he said.

He commended the team for playing beautiful football, nothing that Sunshine FC future was bright, he said.

Aiyedatiwa who is the Chairman of three-man committee put in place by the governor of Ondo State to steer the affairs of the team to ensure they escaped relegation.

Earlier, President of the PUBS, Seun Betiku said members of the group were happy with the support the team got to escape relegation.

Betiku urged the state government to start preparation as soon as possible before the league starts to prevent the kind of problem Sunshine Stars faced last season.

Also, Chairman of Sunshine Stars Supporters Club praised the government intervention and also begged for early signings and preparation.
