The Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) and the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) have entered into a partnership to drive football to greater heights within the state and beyond.
In a released by ODSFA signed by Michael Akintunde, Media Manager, the football association described the collaboration the first of its kind in the history of the Sunshine State.

The OSOPADEC partnering with ODSFA in football-related programmes and activities will provide technical and structural support to OSOPADEC in realizing its sporting mandates.
The announcement was made on Tuesday at the ODSFA Secretariat, where the Chairman of OSOPADEC, Prince Biyi Poroye, led his management team on a courtesy visit to the agency.
Speaking during the visit, Prince Poroye commended the dynamic leadership of ODSFA Chairman, Mr. Divine Ogbonnaya, describing him as a visionary leader and true football technocrat.
He lauded Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for appointing Ogbonnaya, noting that the decision has already begun to yield positive results in the state’s football administration.
“In just a few months in office, Divine Ogbonnaya has demonstrated capacity, commitment, and creativity. His passion for the game and results-driven approach are evident in the activities of ODSFA. I urge all stakeholders to rally around him so that football in Ondo State can return to its rightful place of glory,” Poroye said.
In his response, ODSFA Chairman Divine Ogbonnaya expressed gratitude to Prince Poroye and the OSOPADEC management for their support and partnership.
He assured that ODSFA would continue to uphold professionalism and accountability in all its engagements.
“Football development in Ondo State is a collective project,” Ogbonnaya said. “With the support of OSOPADEC, the prayers of our people, and the unwavering commitment of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Ondo State will soon become a model for football growth in Nigeria.”
The meeting, attended by top management staff of both agencies and members of the media, ended on a note of optimism and mutual commitment to advancing sports across the state.
Both chairmen and directors later inspected completed and ongoing projects within the agency.
