Farul Constanța of Romania defender, Michael Chukwuki Odibe (Asaba) has sent a message of best wishes to his fans and well wishers for the New Year.

Sports247.ng reports that Odibe took time out on holiday with his family in Famagusta, Cyprus to reach out with a goodwill message to everything that stood by him in 2018 and wished them well for 2019.

Odibe, who grew up in Orile-Iganmu area of Lagos and dbuted for the Eagles in a friendly game against Sierra Leone on February 9, 2011, at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, said he is happy for all the special people that encouraged him and motivated him last year.

The once-promising tall stopper, who has also played for First Bank FC of Lagos, Union Saint-Gilloise of Belgium, Siena and Südtirol of Italy, Arsenal Kyiv and Dnipro of Ukraine, Atyrau of Kazakstan, then Concordia Chiajna and Akzhayik of Romania, said he is happy with his career progression.

Though he is now playing in Romania’s second-tier league, Odibe’s breakthrough into the spotlight dates back to February 1, 2010, when Siena signed him on loan from Saint-Gilles of Belgium.

On January 31, 2011, he left Siena on loan for six months at FC Südtirol, where he was until August 31, 2011, when he joined Ukrainian Premier League outfit, Arsenal Kyiv, also on a season-long loan deal.

In January 2014, Odibe joined Atyrau in the Kazakhstan Premier League following the cancellation of his Kyiv contract when they dissolved, but Odibe refuses to be depressed by the downturn in his career fortunes.

Odibe stated with glee: “To all the special people who have been there for me last year. I love you and thank you May all your wishes come true this year 2019.”
