Ocheho Express Shock Over Death Of FCT Handball Coach

The President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria Mr Samuel Ocheho has expressed shock over the death of Coach Hanatu Shuiabu Dada.

Coach Dada, who was the coach of the FCT Handball team, died on Monday, February 14, 2022 after a brief ailment.

Mr. Samuel Ocheho described her as a trailblazer who was a huge support to the board of the Handball Federation of Nigeria.

“I am shocked at the death of Coach Hannatu because her death was sudden”. Ocheho lamented.

“Mama Handball as she was popularly known, was not just a dedicated coach of Team FCT, she was also a mother indeed who discovered and nurtured young handball players as if they were her children.”

“She supported us in our quest to develop handball players for the future and also ensured she gave her valuable advice whenever possible.

” She is a huge loss to the Nigeria Handball Family and she said will be greatly missed.”

Also, the the Chairman of the FCT Handball Association, Ambassador Dr Edward Olutoke, in a statement said Coach Hannatu’s death is an irreparable loss not just to the Nigeria handball family but the entire globe.

Until her death, the late Coach Hanatu Dada, a level 14 civil servant with the Federal Capital Territory, was the coach of the FCT Handball Team.

She was the Second Vice Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women in Sports (NAWIS), FCT

An indigene of Plateau State, colleagues, stakeholders and contemporaries have described Coach Hanatu Dada as a professional coach with humane disposition to her athletes, fellow coaches, the FCT Handball Association and the entire Nigeria handball family.

She will be buried on February 21, 2022.
