NWFL: “We Played As A Team,” Nasarawa Amazons Coach Oluwasheyi Michael Praises Players After Win Over Edo Queens

Nasarawa Amazons FC coach Oluwasheyi Micheal has praised his team for their outstanding collective effort during Wednesday’s 2-0 win against Edo Queens FC in the Nigerian Women Football League MD 12.

Nasarawa Amazons bounced back from a 1-0 loss to Osun Babes in their previous league match with a superb performance against Edo Queens to take all three points. Goals from Chimembere Opara and Dooshima Tarnuum on either side of halftime sealed the victory.

Speaking after the match at the Lafia City Stadium, Michael said: “It’s a perfect performance because we had a game plan before the match and we didn’t even allow them to get close to our goal, not to talk of having a chance and that is what happened from the beginning of the match till the end. Our goalkeeper was rarely tested.

“We lost our last match despite being the favorites. So we talked to ourselves that next game, we go all out and you can see it in the girls the way they played. Everybody played as a defender whenever we were defending and they played as attackers whenever we were attacking.”

The Solid Babes will visit Adamawa Queens for their next fixture.

“Our plan is to head to Adamawa to get our qualification, we’ll go there and get our 3 points. It is not impossible,” Michael added.
