The Owerri mainstreams will welcome their counterparts from Abuja, Naija Ratels to Owerri which marks the premier leaguers four-time topflight meetings in Wednesday’s NWFL Premiership matchday 13 game at the sacred turf of Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.

Onwere said aside the main aim which is to secure the Super Six ticket with a convincing victory her side want to cut down on the opponents dominance which has seen them win in two of their three previous league meetings.

“We see this match as one that will lead us to Super Six and for me and the entire team we have been working tirelessly hard to get the job done, and that’s to win the match.

“Of course, we are more keen on winning than the number of goals or goal margin, winning is key even if it is one unreplied goal win, what we are after is to win the match come on Wednesday.

“And we will want to break the jinx that has seen the opponents win in two of the three previous matches. This term we have been to their house to pick a point, and that’s an indication that already the process of breaking the jinx has started, so we will finish it on Wednesday. We have been looking forward to the rematch ever since the first fixture clash.

“We are not relaxed nor taking the opposite for granted because they have a good coach in Bankole Olowookere who happens to be the national U17 women team coach. They are good same as ours, we remain focused and wait on matchday to play the game as we know it,” said the lanky solid as Gibraltar rock.

The Owerri landladies former captain said her football career would be 100% made for her to be a party to qualify the side for their first time ever Super Six.

“It will be a dream come true for me to be a party to Super Six success story. My colleagues in other teams that have attained the Super Six status always inundate me on how fulfilling and funfare it is to partake in the elite football fiesta, and they always add that it truly makes you feel like a woman, and for me it’s already feeling like I am becoming a woman. I will be the happiest person on mother earth to be a party to the historical achievement, and that goes to the entire team. It’s first in history of the team and history is about to be made.

“And we the defenders, hard-as-nails, have resolved to showcase our very best form on matchday and we believe strongly that our best will take us to Super Six,” said the no nonsense strongwoman.

Heartland Queens will be home with the Super Six ticket in their kitty with victory against the visitors, Naija Ratels even with a game to spare at topflight newcomers, Dannaz Ladies in Lagos on the closing day of the league season.

The Owerri side are second on the eight-team Group A log on 21 points two behind leaders and former champions, Nasarawa Amazons.
