Edo Queens of Benin City head coach, Moses Aduku says the biggest target on his mind for now is how his side can emerge as back-to-back winners of Nigeria’s female league, Sports247 reports.
Aduku and his wards will begin their title defence on Saturday at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State, and he added that they are ready for the first day of action at the 2025 Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL) Super-6.

The first match of the day will see hosts Remo Ladies take on seven- time winners Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt, after which Naija Ratels of Abuja tango five time champs Bayelsa United of Yenagoa, while Edo Queens will end matchday one fixtures versus 2013 and 2017 champions, Nasarawa Amazons of Lafia.
Heading into the games, Moses Aduku affirmed that he already has his eyes fixed on next weekend’s climax of the whole series in the countryside of Ogun State, stressing that he wants to be crowned a champion again on May 17th.
Aduku declared, “The challenge is good, and we are prepared; which is the most important thing. If you look at the regular season, you will notice that Edo Queens are real champions. We topped our group and, coming here, we want to remain champions.”
The lanky former mercurial midfielder admitted that all the other teams are good and they equally want to win the title, but reasoned that determination, desire and discipline should see his side through the storm, en route to being crowned champs once again.
“We are going to face good teams, so we expect tough games. But, we came here for one purpose, which is to defend our title. So, we will try and see how we can win the trophy back-to-back,” Aduku enthused.
