NWFL slams N1m fine on Osun Babes, warns of against banishment

The Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL has fined Premiership Club, Osun Babes of Oshogbo, the sum of N1m for assault of match officials by the club fans in the Match No: 26 between the club and Naija Ratels FC of Abuja played on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, in Osun State.

The NWFL Chief Operating Officer, Modupe Shabi, noted that this was in gross violation of Article 17.1 of the NWFL Regulatory Framework and Articles 26.1 and 16.5 which saw Osun Babes FC fined the sum of One Million Naira (N1,000,000.00). “In addition, Osun Babes supporter one Mr. Rosco has been banished from all NWFL organized Competitions with immediate effect, for instigating violence against the match officials.

“The club also risk banishment from playing their home matches in Osun State if the club supporters persistently cause disorder during their home matches.”
