NWFL: Robo Queens Awarded Walkover Victory Over Osun Babes Due to Jersey Clash

Robo Queens were awarded a 3–0 walkover win against Osun Babes in their week 8 Nigeria Women Football League fixture in Lagos on Wednesday afternoon.

The match failed to kick off despite the presence of the two teams at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena due to unresolved jersey colour issues.

According to an account given by the Robo Queens media The encounter, scheduled to start at 1:00 pm, was delayed by an initial 30 minutes following objections over a kit clash involving the visiting team, who reportedly arrived with only one set of jerseys.

Although the goalkeeper jersey conflict was resolved after Robo Queens made adjustments, the outfield kit issue persisted.

Despite further deliberations, the problem remained unresolved.

The centre referee waited an additional 15 minutes beyond the extended delay, but with no satisfactory solution forthcoming, the match could not commence.
In total, 53 minutes were lost, after which the referee blew the final whistle.

In line with league regulations, Robo Queens were awarded a walkover—three goals and three points—while Osun Babes forfeited the fixture under Nigeria Women Football League rules.

The decision hands Robo Queens maximum points without a ball being kicked, and consolidated their position on the log as they continue a super six chase.
