NWFL Premiership MD7 Wrap: Remo Stars End Robo’s Unbeaten Run as Abia Angels Stun Delta

Matchday Seven of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership delivered major talking points across the country on Wednesday, highlighted by Remo Stars Ladies ending FC Robo Queens’ perfect start and Abia Angels claiming a shock away win over Delta Queens.

In Ikenne, Remo Stars Ladies produced one of the standout results of the round, edging previously unbeaten FC Robo Queens 1–0 in a keenly contested South-West derby.

Cynthia Mega struck the decisive goal in the 73rd minute to halt Robo Queens’ six-game winning streak and underline Remo Stars’ growing title credentials.

Abia Angels also grabbed headlines in Asaba, where they stunned Delta Queens 1–0 away from home. Blessing Okon’s 55th-minute finish sealed the victory, coming just hours after the Umuahia-based side parted ways with their head coach — the first managerial exit of the 2025/26 season.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers Angels were ruthless, recording the biggest win of the matchday with a commanding 5–0 triumph over Heartland Queens. Ramotalahi Kareem stole the show with a superb hat-trick in the 14th, 33rd and 58th minutes, while Abasiofon Uwah added a brace to complete the rout.

Defending champions Bayelsa Queens maintained their strong form on the road, overpowering Adamawa Queens 4–1 in Makwada.

Blessing Ilivieda opened the scoring early, Janet Akekoromowei added another, and Kindness Ifeanyi netted twice to seal an emphatic away victory.

In Uyo, Ibom Angels claimed a hard-fought 2–1 win over Ekiti Queens, with Wami Georgeline scoring a late winner after both teams had exchanged goals in the first half.

Elsewhere, the North-Central derby between Confluence Queens and Nasarawa Amazons ended 1–1, with the visitors grabbing a late equaliser in Iyahmo.

The South-West derby in Ile-Ogbo finished goalless as Osun Babes and Sunshine Queens cancelled each other out.
