NWFL Premiership 2025/2026: Matchday One Fixtures Set the Tone for an Exciting Season

The countdown is officially over as the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season kicks off on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

Fans across the country are gearing up for another thrilling campaign that promises intense competition, fresh storylines, and standout performances from some of Nigeria’s finest women’s football talents.

This season’s opening fixtures will see teams in both Group A and Group B begin their quest for glory, with all matches scheduled for a 4pm kickoff.

Defending champions Bayelsa Queens will begin proceedings on home turf in Yenagoa where they welcome Edo Queens in what is expected to be one of the standout fixtures of the opening day.

The champions will be eager to start strongly, while Edo Queens arrive determined to signal their intent early.

In Makwada, Adamawa Queens host Pacesetters Queens, a tie that promises energetic football as both sides look to establish early momentum.

Heartland Queens will also enjoy home advantage in Owerri when they take on Ekiti Queens, while Naija Ratels face Ibom Angels in Abuja to complete Group A’s fixtures.

Group B offers equal excitement, beginning with Nasarawa Amazons squaring up against Delta Queens in Lafia. At Iyamho,

Confluence Queens face Abia Angels, a fixture that could set the tone for both teams’ ambitions this season. In Akure, Sunshine Queens battle FC Robo Queens, while Ahuudyianen Queens meet newcomers Remo Stars Ladies in Umuahia.

The final Group B encounter sees Dannaz Ladies host Osun Babes in Lagos.

Meanwhile, Rivers Angels will sit out the opening week following a bye occasioned by Castmog Ladies’ relegation to the Championship due to failure to complete mandatory registration formalities.
