The Nigeria Women’s Football League, NWFL has fined Royal Queens the sum of one million nairas for abandoning their match day 10 fixture against Naija Ratels on Wednesday,22nd of March 2023.
It will be recalled that the match between Naija Ratels and Royal Queens was declared the match inconclusive by the referee in the 78th minute after the visitors refused to continue the encounter at Old Parade Ground.
Ratel Queens had refused to continue play after the centre referee awarded a penalty against them in the 78th minute.
The game was one all at the time of the incident after Royal Queens Anny Essien’s early strike which was equalled by Blessing Emmanuel’s screamer for Naija Ratels.
It also ruled that the club General Manager, Mr Atare Azigbo has been “suspended with immediate effect from all NWFL activities till the end of the season for unruly behaviour.”
As a result, three points and three goals have been awarded to Naija Ratels according to article 14.8 of the NWFL rule book.
