NWFL: Confluence Queens Shun Star players as Whyte embraces grass root players for Glory

The Coach of Confluence Queens of Lokoja Whyte Ogbonda has publicly stated his preference for young aspiring players as he also gave reasons for his preference.

Whyte led Confluence Queens to the finals of the NWFL Super 4 for the first time in the Club’ history though he lost to Rivers Angels to emerge Runners cup in the over all log table in the 2019 NWFL football season.

” I prefer the grass root players , they are younger and eager to listen and obey instructions.
They are ready to work and progress to star players, with these green horns and a mixture of the few experienced players in the team will certainly bring results”.

He further explained that at the end of a coach’ career , a coach should be able to boast that he produced a number of players”.

Thinking aloud Whyte asked a rehotrical question
” How do you get replacement for the experienced and tested players if no coach trains and gives opportunity to upcoming players”.

The coaches in the grass roots level should be encouraged by going for their players and plunge them in the highest level as they are ready to work he rounded up.

Coach Whyte Ogbonda is an experienced NWFL Coach who spent 8 seasons with Rivers Angels as an Assistant Coach to Edwin Okon before moving to Ibom Angels where he recorded a back to back Aiteo Cup finals for the team which unfortunately they lost on both occasions. He He is presently in his second season with Confluence Queens.
