NWFL Championship League: Naija Ratels Faced With Chance To Overtake Adamawa Queens

The battle for the two teams seeking promotion to the NWFL Premiership League will begin to take shape on Day Three of the NWFL Championship League going on at the Aguiyi Ironsi Sports Complex, Abuja.

As Day Three action resumes on Saturday, after Friday’s Rest Day, Naija Ratels FC is presented with the opportunity to level up with Adamawa Queens or overtake the league leaders, Adamawa Queens.

Going into Saturday’s Day Three games, Adamawa Queens top the table with 6 points and +5 goal difference from two matches.
Naija Ratels FC, placed second, have 3 points from one game and +2 goal difference.

With three points from one game and +2 goal difference, Naija Ratels are now presented with the opportunity to either level parity or overtake Adamawa Queens.

Naija Ratels will level parity if they win Saturday’s match against Kwara Ladies by 3-0. If so, Ratels will have 6 points, +5 goal difference, and zero goal, same as Adamawa Queens.

To shoot into lead, Naija Ratels must score four unreplied goals against Kwara Ladies, to move to the same 6 points and a superior +6 goal difference.

In case of a draw, Naija Ratels will move to 4 points from their present 3 points, while Kwara Ladies will stay glued to the Fourth position they occupied before the First Rest Day.
If Kwara Ladies win their game against Naija Ratels, they will move to the second position with four points above Naija Ratels.

In another Day Three game, Heartland Queens will confront Gallant Queens for contention to keep an eye on one of the two slots for the promotion tickets. Heartland needs to beat Gallant Queens keep knocking at the door of a possible promotion, while Kwara Ladies will pray that Heartland Queens and Gallant Queens should end in a draw, they will also fight not to concede three to four goals against Naija Ratels.
