In a report on a radio station monitored in Abuja, Chairperson of the board, Nkechi Obi, while addressing journalists, outlined some strategies put together by her board, which are aimed at growing the league in the coming season.

“What you should expect is that our mantra, ‘Women’s Football Rising’, is really about growing the number of girls playing football, club football and growing the clubs, so that they can cater for the players. And as well, charter a path for the players as a woman,” she stated.

“We intend to deploy a huge media campaign. And it’d start even before the AGM. Media is very critical to what we want to achieve,” the renowned sports marketing expert added.

In the same vein, board member Ayodele Thomas, noted that all hands are on desk to ensure a well organised season. Adding that it would not be business as usual.

“Basically, you should expect a well organised league. It’s not going to be about the players only, but also the clubs.

“We’re going to encourage clubs to be runned professionally. We’ll also work on how to attract more fans to the stadium.

“We want to grow this league and make it an attractive brand. We’ve had several discussions with stakeholders within and outside the sports industry, to come and support the girl child,” Thomas, who is widely regarded as a very resourceful sports administrator and investor, added.
