NWFL 2022/23 : Edo Queens, Adamawa Queens Set For Battle In Benin

The ‘Never Say No’ Edo Queens Football Club of Benin-City will on Wednesday the 21st of December 2022 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin host Adamawa Queens FC, in Week 4 of the Nigeria Women Football League NWFL premiership for 2022/23 season.

Ahead of the resumption of action for the new NWFL premiership season for 2022/23, Edo Queens commenced the season on a narrow 1-0 loss to arch rivals, Nasarawa Amazons in their first away game three weeks ago in Makurdi, Benue State.

With the memory of the first away defeat fresh in the mind of the players, Red-hot Edo Queens came back home to return to winning ways in their second game of the season to humble visiting Confluence Queens of kogi State 4-2 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

They also travelled to Lagos last week Wednesday to beat the current champions of the 2022 Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament, FC Robo 2-1 at the Legacy pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere Lagos.

However, with their return to third position on the log in Group B, the Moses Aduku -led side cannot afford any complacency in Wednesday’s match against Adamawa Queens. For the past four consecutive league seasons, Adamawa Queens, have never beaten Edo Queens in any competitive engagement. Tomorrow’s encounter is crucial to Edo Queens, as the players are determined to continue with their winning streaks.

As magical as Lionel Messi is on the ball, it will be difficult for the Yola based ladies to hold down the strike force of Edo Queens. After his team ran riot at Legacy pitch last Wednesday, the double champion coach, Moses Aduku, is confident that the highly rated and best managed Edo Queens will give good account of themselves when they take on Adamawa Queens tomorrow at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in group B of the NWFL abridged league.

However, the Adamawa Queens are no push over, they are currently placed 2nd on the table in group B. Since they are not in Edo State for jamboree, it is going to be a tough battle but Adamawa Queens will succumb to Edo Queens as the fans are looking up to Benin based Queens for a good football display.

To also show how important this crucial game is, Adamawa Queens have been in Benin City since Sunday night, fully ready for the game. Information reaching the media desk reveals that the State government has commissioned them to go to Edo State and conquer but the tactical Moses Aduku led squad has assured their teeming fans of total victory in this new season. The fans on their part are ready to cheer their darling Queens up as the Stadium will be filled to capacity in tomorrow’s cracker.
