NWFAwards: End of Season Awards Ceremony Holds Today in Ikenne

The sixth edition of the Nigeria Women Football Awards (NWFAwards) End of Season ceremony will be held today, Friday, May 16, 2025, at the prestigious Remo Stars Auditorium in Ikenne.

The event, scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM, will bring together top talents from the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership to celebrate outstanding performances from the 2025 regular season and the ongoing Super 6 playoffs.

Renowned for its consistent weekly and monthly recognitions, the NWFAwards will culminate in today’s grand event, honoring the most exceptional players and coaches who made significant contributions throughout the season.

Speaking ahead of the ceremony, Award Coordinator Dr. Abolore AbdulRahman expressed enthusiasm about the growing visibility and appreciation of women’s football in Nigeria.

“This award is not just about celebrating talent; it’s about inspiring a generation. The consistency and dedication we’ve witnessed this season are proof that women’s football in Nigeria is thriving. We’re proud to be leading the charge in recognizing that progress,” he said.

He added, “This sixth edition marks another milestone for us at the Naija Women Football Awards. We remain committed to celebrating excellence within the league.”

On the choice of venue, Dr. AbdulRahman noted: “As our tradition, this year’s choice of the Remo Stars facility in Ikenne offers a serene and professional environment for the players and coaches. We’re delighted to host the Gala Awards here, everyone is excited.”

He also extended gratitude to sponsors and partners:
