Nwaneri To Leave Arsenal In January Transfer Window

Startling information out of London has it on good authority that Nigerian-born winger, Ethan Nwaneri is set to leave Arsenal in the coming transfer window.

Sports247 gathered that The Gunners’ top brass are ready to send Nwaneri out of Emirates Stadium in January, but it would not be a full transfer that could see them lose his potential in the long run.

To ensure they can still get Nwaneri back in his prime, the impending deal being planned for the youngster is a loan agreement that will last only for the second half of this season.

This is because Arsenal’s technical buffs believe the 18-year-old Nwaneri’s progress is being stunted in the midst of several stars in Mikel Arteta’s squad but he remains a very strong prospect for future thrils with the club.

For now, though, the verdict from egg heads at the London-based English Premier League outfit is that moving to a ‘smaller team’ would be the best option in helping to shape his budding career.

Furthermore, Nwaneri’s impending exit is part of a wider phase, as The Gunners’ top brass are now trying to trim their squad, after a surprisingly busy buying spree they had in the summer transfer window.

They spent £250m in signing Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Cristhian Mosquera, Viktor Gyokeres as well as the Nigerian-born duo of Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze.

Incidentally, the arrivals of Madueke and Eze have directly affected fellow-Nigerian-born Nwaneri’s growth at the Emirates, where his game appearances have been reduced to the barest.

Nwaneri will now have to accept Arsenal’s offer of a loan exit at the start of 2026, in a deal that could be akin to the huge transformation Cole Palmer had after moving from Manchester City to Chelsea.
