Nwabali Receives Prayers For ‘Success In Next Chapter’ From John Noble

Rivers United of Port Harcourt goalkeeper, John Noble has sent a prayer for ‘success in the next chapter’ to Super Eagles’ number one choice, Stanley Nwabali, who is currently clubless.

Sports247 reports that the goodwill message from Noble goes out to Nwabali after the 29-year-old shot-stopper surprisingly walked out on his contract with Chippa United of South Africa without any alternative in sight.

Nwabali submitted his release request while on international duty with the Super Eagles during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where he played a key role as the Nigerians finished third.

In reaction to Nwabali’s shock decision to dump The Chilli Boys, Noble pointed out that it was a bold move, especially as the Eagles’ safe hands does not yet have a new club, and wished him well in his next port of call.

Noble, who was the only home-based player in Nigeria’s squad to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon and returned to Rivers United last year after a short stay in Tanzania, also disclosed how close he is with Nwabali.

“No one really knows why he made that decision, but there must be a reason behind it. Perhaps he has received a better offer elsewhere or is close to securing a new opportunity that he prefers to keep private for now.

“Whatever the reason, I sincerely wish him all the best in his next adventure. There is no doubt that he is an excellent goalkeeper, given all he has achieved with the Nigerian national team over the years.

“On top of that, he is also a very good friend of mine. I hope this next chapter brings him success, happiness, and everything he deserves both on and off the pitch,” said Noble, who is eager for a recall to the Eagles.
