Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has revealed that he had no concrete transfer offer in place before requesting a release from South African club Chippa United, dismissing speculation that his decision was driven by an imminent move elsewhere.

Speaking in an interview with Andile Nchube, Nwabali made it clear that his situation remains open-ended, stressing that there is currently no contract or club proposal on the table.
“There is no contract in front, there is no club in front, and I am not guaranteeing you that a club will come today or tomorrow,” the Nigerian international said.
The 2023 AFCON standout, who rose to prominence with a series of composed performances for Nigeria, emphasized that his decision was not motivated by desperation or pressure to secure a move quickly. Instead, he maintained a calm and patient stance as he considers the next phase of his career.
“I am not desperate to get a club, but whatever club that comes, if it suits my agent and it suits me, I am going to play,” he added.
Nwabali also addressed reports suggesting that clubs had already begun making enquiries for his services, firmly denying any such claims. According to the goalkeeper, reactions to his decision have so far come only from close circles.
“There are no calls yet. The only calls are from my family and friends and people that are shocked at the news,” he revealed.
The comments underline Nwabali’s measured approach to his future, as he prioritizes the right sporting project over a rushed transfer.
While uncertainty surrounds his next destination, the goalkeeper’s profile and recent international exploits are expected to keep him firmly on the radar of clubs across the continent and beyond.
