The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) U-17 Youth League witnessed an exciting encounter as Abia Warriors U-17 faced off against Enyimba in the South-East Zonal qualifiers (Group E) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
The match ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw, with both teams showcasing their talent and determination.

The game started with Abia Warriors U-17 taking the initiative, winning an early corner within the first minute to signal their intent.
Despite their efforts, the first half concluded without either team finding the back of the net.
The second half saw Abia Warriors dominating play, keeping Enyimba pinned in their half.
The breakthrough came in the 69th minute when George Bassey of Abia Warriors scored a brilliant goal from 16 yards, showcasing an excellent interchange of play.
However, Enyimba responded swiftly, equalizing just a minute and a half later.
The back-and-forth continued, and Abia Warriors had a chance to take the lead again in the 86th minute when Bassey was fouled in the opponent’s vital area, earning a penalty.
Bassey stepped up to the challenge, converting the penalty to secure his second goal of the match.
Despite their efforts, Abia Warriors couldn’t maintain the lead, as Enyimba capitalized on a lapse in concentration to score the equalizer.
The match concluded with a 2-2 draw, leaving both teams with a point each.
Abia Warriors U-17 will face Heartland of Owerri in their next fixture at the same venue, with the kickoff scheduled for 9:30 am.
The teams will look to build on their performances in the ongoing NPFL U-17 Youth League.
